Meet the Founder

R.J. Stieve

R.J., the proud owner of Richard-James Construction and Design, grew up immersed in the trades, nurturing a lifelong passion for homes and their transformative power. In 2022, he turned his dream into reality by founding his own company, bringing years of experience in custom new-built homes to the forefront. Specializing in high-end custom decks, basement finishing, additions, and more, R.J.'s expertise and attention to detail set his work apart. Originally hailing from the U.P., R.J. is a world traveler and avid outdoorsman who brings a rich perspective to every project. Beyond his professional life, he is a dedicated high school football coach and a family-oriented man, committed to building not just homes, but lasting relationships with his clients.
